Mirror Joker Review

Mirror Joker starts with the familiar outline of a three-reel fruit machine, then changes the size of the game when its main feature arrives. Two completed stacks can open a five-reel board with extra paylines and a special Joker. Released by Play'n GO in September 2024, it puts most of its personality into that change of layout.

A small fruit slot with a changing board

The base game uses three reels, three rows and five paylines. Its traditional symbols and Joker artwork fit neatly into that small playing area. There is little to distract from the stacks that can set up the feature.

The important change comes during Mirror Respin. The three-reel screen grows to five reels, with the stacked symbols mirrored onto the expanded board. Ten paylines are active for the feature. This gives the same basic symbols a different arrangement to work with, without turning the game into a large multi-stage video slot.

Mirror Joker Features

Mirror Respin and the special wild

Two stacks of symbols can trigger Mirror Respin. The held stacks carry into the wider grid and a respin resolves on the expanded layout. The board change is temporary and belongs to the feature, rather than permanently replacing the base game.

A Mirror Joker can appear during the respin. It substitutes for other paying symbols and enables wins from both directions. This is the feature's second important detail: the extra reels matter, but so does the change from the normal direction of payment.

RTP and the listed maximum win

The catalogue lists medium volatility and a maximum win of 880× the stake. That ceiling is lower than the 5,000× listed for Fire Joker 100, another game in Play'n GO's compact Joker family. A maximum win is a limit, however, and does not describe how frequently wins occur.

Listed RTP configurations range from 84.20% to 96.20%. Those values should not be treated as interchangeable. The game information screen identifies the configuration in use; the highest published figure does not necessarily describe every available version.

How it compares with Fire Joker 100

Both games begin with a 3×3 layout. Fire Joker 100 keeps that board and builds its main feature around a multiplier wheel. Mirror Joker instead changes the number of reels and paylines, then adds the possibility of two-way wins.

That makes the choice largely about the feature you prefer to follow. Mirror Joker provides a visible change of board, while Fire Joker 100 places more emphasis on its wheel. Neither uses a conventional extended free-spins round.

Mirror Joker Pros and Cons

Strengths

  • A visible expansion from three to five reels
  • Ten paylines during Mirror Respin
  • Mirror Joker enables wins in both directions

Limitations

  • No conventional free-spins round
  • Published RTP configurations differ substantially

Our Verdict

Mirror Joker has a focused idea and explains it through the board itself. The transition from three to five reels gives its respin a distinct identity, and the special wild adds a second layer without a lengthy ruleset. The modest listed ceiling and absence of an extended bonus round may limit its appeal for players who want a more elaborate game.
